One driver dead, second one in hospital after head-on crash, south of Port Elgin
(PORT ELGIN, ON) - One person is dead following a head-on collision on Highway 21, south of Port Elgin.

Tuesday, March 31, at 5:23 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP, along with fire and emergency medical services responded to a collision on Highway 21 involving a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and a pick-up truck.

The driver of the SUV suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The South Bruce OPP, along with members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continue to investigate the collision.

Highway 21 is closed, between Bruce County Road 40 and Concession 2, and will remain closed for the next several hours to allow for investigation.

Investigators are asking residents and business owners, along with members of the motoring public, to check their security surveillance or dash camera footage in the event that they captured the collision or the vehicles involved.
