Crowd gathers for Spark Fair and Repair Cafe at Kincardine Pavilion

The Kincardine Beach Pavilion was a busy place last weekend as it hosted the Spark Fair and Repair Cafe.

Held Friday and Saturday (April 17-18), the Active Living 55-plus Spark Fair welcomed people to check out local groups and organizations, featuring hobbies, recreation, creativity and life-long interests.

Whether the groups were well-established or just getting started, this was a chance to connect with community members who were curious, engaged and eager to try something new.

The event introduced people to new and existing hobbies, such as the Kincardine Woodcarvers and the Purple Grove Women's Institute, as well as encouraging social connection, active engagement, and celebrating the talents, passions and skills already present in the community.

Among the demonstrations, were the Active Living Line Dancers of Kincardine, led by Carmen Coburn (below).



Meanwhile, members of the public were invited to avail themselves of the Kincardine Environmental Action Network (KEAN)'s Repair Cafe, held Saturday, April 18.

Several volunteers offered to repair a variety of items, including clocks, bicycles, clothing, a neck massager, and much more.

Also, in partnership with the Kincardine Theatre Guild, KEAN is hosting a circular fashion show, "Relove Runway," Thursday, June 18, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Kincardine Arts Centre in downtown Kincardine.
