Former Kincardine councillor, Gordon Campbell, dies at the age of 90

Gordon Hewitt Campbell of Kincardine died peacefully, at Huron Shores Hospice, May 27, 2026, in his 91st year.

Beloved husband of Bernice MaryAnn Campbell (née Stewart) and cherished father of Darryl (Allison) Campbell and Lorri Lynn Campbell,

Deeply missed by his grandchildren, April (Farhad), Robin (Anthony), Alyssa (Phil), Savannah Rose (Paul), Keenan, Laura and Doug; and great-grandchildren, Malichay, Easton, Calista, Savana, Tareq, Zora, and Katie.

Survived and missed by his sister, Betty Wittig; and brothers, Mervyn and Alan (Myra).

His loss will also be felt by his many friends and relatives, and his beloved grand-cat, Earl, with whom he enjoyed spending time.

Predeceased by his parents, James Alexander Campbell and Verna Campbell (née Hewitt); his cherished son, John "Jack" William Campbell, in 2001; as well as his siblings, Elva, Roy, Carl and Elmer; and siblings-in-law, Judy, Marcella, Pat, Bob and Andy.

Gordon was born in Kincardine, July 26, 1935. He was a life-long beef and dairy farmer whose dedication to agriculture and community left a lasting impact. He proudly served three terms on Kincardine council and was respected by colleagues during his 27 years at Bruce Power (formerly Ontario Power Generation). He will be remembered for his hard work, commitment to his community, and devotion to his family.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2026, from 6-9 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine.

The funeral will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a reception.

Private interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
