Susan Louise Pietraszko died peacefully, May 25, 2026, in Kincardine, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 68.
Born in Kitchener, May 28, 1957, she lived a life defined by kindness, dedication, and an extraordinary ability to form and nurture meaningful relationships.
Susan spent many years working at the Royal Bank where she was known not only for her professionalism but for the friendships she built — friendships that lasted long after her working days ended. She had a remarkable gift for connection, and people were naturally drawn to her warmth and sincerity.
One of her greatest joys was supporting her boys. She travelled to what can only be described as a wildly-excessive number of hockey rinks and baseball diamonds, cheering with unwavering enthusiasm. Her presence — whether in the stands, on the road, or waiting in the car after a late game — was a constant source of encouragement and love.
At home, Susan was the steady force that kept everything running. She ran the house with an iron fist — lovingly, of course — and her sons affectionately referred to her as “the warden.” It was a title she wore with a mix of pride and humour, and one that reflected her fierce devotion to her family’s well-being.
Her circle of friends stretched across every chapter of her life. She remained close with her high school friends, maintaining bonds that time never managed to loosen. Whether through work, sports, travel, or community, Susan touched countless lives with her generosity, humour, and genuine care.
Survived by her mother, Anne; her sister, Deb; and her brother, Jim.
She leaves behind her beloved sons — Jeff and his spouse, Alison, and their children, Emma, Carly, and Jonathan; Jamie and his spouse, Alexandra, and their children, Brooke and Jack; and Andrew. Each of them carries her love, her spirit, and the countless lessons she shared.
Predeceased by her father, Herbert; and her husband, Carl.
Donations in Susan’s memory may be made to KidsAbility, a cause that reflects her life-long care for children and community; arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine; www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
