The Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games has donated $2,710.87 for new musical instruments at St. Anthony's School in Kincardine.
Music teacher Turner Ruetz says he is in the process of replacing aging instruments at the school and was thrilled with the donation to help cover the cost of one new Yamaha flute, two new Yamaha clarinets, and one new Yamaha trombone.
"It's frustrating for students to learn on an instrument that is not functioning properly," said Ruetz. "The service technician has sent back reports on instruments, recently, saying that they should be retired.
"We are extremely grateful for this generous donation to help the students make music to the best of their ability. Having a properly-functioning instrument is key!"
