Sheila Hunter of Kincardine dies at the age of 88

Sheila Mae Hunter of Kincardine died peacefully, surrounded by family, Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, in her 89th year.

Beloved mother of Deborah Lajoie (Kevin Wood), and dear Nana of Craig, Jennifer (Mike Caswell), and Blake.

She will be missed by her brother, Robert Norman; sisters, Isabel Craig and Mary Lou (George) Tout; and remembered by her sisters-in-law, Patricia Leach and Jane Rothwell; and brother-in-law, Bill Hunter.

Predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob;” son, Terry Hunter; sister-in-law, Vera Norman; and brother-in-law John Craig.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 1 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, with visitation prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.

Private family interment, Kincardine Cemetery.
