Fund-raising by the Kincardine Refugee Committee is on target to bring two families to the area - one is a family of four and the other, a family of six.
But the fun is just beginning, says the finance committee, as it has a number of fund-raising events planned for the coming weeks. First on the agenda, is a Leprechaun Supper, Thursday, March 17.
As of Feb. 11, the committee has $53,645 in cash, and pledges of $4,520, for a total of $58,165.
In other news, the main committee says that people who wish to make donations on-line can now do so.
If you wish to donate, go to “Canadahelps.org” and search “Knox Refugee” and the account will appear.
People who wish to donate on-line, should be aware that there is a 4.9 per cent administration fee. That information is not available on the account site.
If you would like to make a donation, make cheques payable to: Knox Presbyterian Church – Refugees, and send them to: Knox Presbyterian Church, Attention Refugee Fund, 345 Durham St., Kincardine, Ontario, N2Z 1Y6.
