Kincardine Food Bank use continues to increase; donations appreciated
Use of the Kincardine Food Bank continues to increase.
That's the word from co-ordinators Nancy Dawson and Pat Stewart who said the total clients served in 2015 was 2,886, compared to 2,578 the previous year.
Thanks to the generosity of the Kincardine and area community, these needs continue to be met, said Dawson. Just recently, the Ripley Lions Club presented a donation of $600 which will be used for groceries and gift cards.

Stewart said that in 2015, there was an increase in the number of families using the food bank - to 782, from 755 in 2014. There was also an increase in the number of new clients - to 65 in 2015.
"We are overjoyed with the generous contributions of cash and food that we have received over this past year," said Stewart. "Special thanks to our dedicated volunteers who work weekly helping sort the food, grocery pick-ups, loading and unloading vehicles, etc. We are grateful for your continued commitment to our food bank. Without you, we would not be able to function as efficiently as we do."
The Kincardine Food Bank is located in the Anglican Church of the Messiah Hall, Kincardine, and is open Thursdays from 10 a.m. to Noon.
