Kincardine advises that Station Beach is unsafe for swimming

The Municipality of Kincardine is advising residents and visitors that Station Beach is unsafe for swimming after routine water-quality testing by Grey Bruce Public Health found bacterial levels above acceptable thresholds.

A press release, issued Wednesday by the municipality, states that water samples collected by public health indicate that bacterial levels at Station Beach exceed acceptable thresholds. As a result, public health has determined that the water is currently unsafe for swimming.

Advisory signage has been posted at the beach, and residents and visitors are asked to avoid swimming until follow-up water testing confirms the water is safe.

Public health will continue to monitor water quality, and the municipality will share an update as soon as new test results are available.

"The municipality thanks residents and visitors for their co-operation and understanding as we work together to protect public health and safety."
