Shirley MacKinnon of Ripley remembered for her love of family, cooking, baking and country music

Shirley Ann MacKinnon (nee Stanley) of Ripley and formerly of Kincardine, died peacefully, surrounded by family, Aug. 7, 2026, at Huron Shores Hospice in her 90th year.

Beloved mother of Pam (Dale) Armstrong, Greg MacKinnon and Jackie (Ron) Wilson.

Greatly missed by her grandchildren, Todd (Kris) Armstrong, Cody (Robyn) Armstrong, Brandon (Ashley) Wilson and Brady Wilson; and great-grandchildren Ella, Baye and Willow Armstrong, and Olive, Elliot and Aubrey Wilson.

Also survived by her sisters, Helen (Clarke) Pollock and Leona Setley.

Predeceased by her loving partner of 30 years, Oscar Trepanier; as well as seven sisters and three brothers, and her daughter-in-law, Carole Hanks.

Shirley worked at Princess Court and then Kincardine Hospital for 18 years. She was a hard worker and gave her all to everything she did.

She was an excellent cook and baker, and enjoyed watching the Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs, and listening to country music. She loved her family with all her heart and would do anything for them.

The family thanks the staff at Rosewood RVilla in Ripley which was her home for the past six years. Thanks also to thank Dr. Damian Gunaratne and all the staff and volunteers at Huron Shores Hospice for their wonderful care of Mom the past few weeks.

A graveside funeral service will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
