Motorist charged with impaired driving and stunt-driving in Kincardine

(KINCARDINE, ON) - A resident of Huron East has been charged with impaired driving, following a traffic stop for stunt-driving.

Aug. 6, at approximately 8:30 p.m., South Bruce OPP officers were conducting routine patrols along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine. Officers observed a vehicle travelling more than 60 km/h above the posted speed limit. During the traffic stop, officers observed signs of impairment and placed the driver under arrest.

Jordan BLANCHARD, 32, of Huron East has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration 80-plus

  • Drive motor vehicle - Perform stunt - excessive speed

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Walkerton, Sept. 9.

The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for 14 days, and the accused's driver's licence was suspended for a period of 90 days.
