Bruce Power is providing $100,000 in mutual aid assistance to support communities across Niagara Region as they recover from unprecedented rainfall events that resulted in states-of-emergency being declared in the City of St. Catharines and the Town of Lincoln.
The Niagara region experienced extreme rainfall, July 27-28, followed by another significant weather event, Aug. 2, causing widespread flooding, property damage, and disruption to residents and businesses.
Working closely with local officials and emergency management teams, Bruce Power is supplying critical recovery materials and equipment, including small generators, construction-grade and heavy-duty garbage bags, cleaning supplies, mops, brooms, disinfectants, mould-removal products, paper products, laundry detergent, baby diapers, personal hygiene items, fans, and dehumidifiers.
“By leveraging our strong supplier relationships and procurement capabilities, we were able to quickly secure and co-ordinate the delivery of critical recovery supplies to Niagara Region," said Jeff Holland, director of supply chain at Bruce Power.
The mutual aid support reflects Bruce Power’s commitment to helping Ontario communities during times of need and building strong partnerships through emergency preparedness and response.
