(LONDON, ON) - A dedicated tip-line has been established as investigators seek the public's assistance in an ongoing fraud investigation involving the London Health Sciences Centre.
In October, 2024, the London Police Service launched an investigation into allegations of fraudulent financial activity at the health centre, following concerns brought forward by the hospital.
Due to its complexity and the specialized resources required, the investigation is now being conducted jointly with OPP investigators from the Serious Fraud Office (SFO).
"We remain fully committed to this investigation and value the continued partnership with the OPP and the SFO," said detective superintendent Sean Travis, London Police Service Criminal Investigation Division. "Shared expertise and investigative collaboration are essential in advancing this complex file. We also encourage anyone with information to come forward, as even the smallest detail may assist investigators."
"Information from the public can be critical in complex fraud investigations," said detective superintendent Jennifer Spurrell of the SFO. "We encourage anyone who may have information to come forward, no matter how minor it may seem. Even small details can play an important role in advancing the investigation."
Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call the dedicated tipline at 1-844-677-9413, London police at 519-661-5670 or the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
The SFO is a joint initiative of the OPP and the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General, dedicated to investigating and prosecuting complex fraud and financial crimes. Using an integrated model, the SFO brings together police investigators and Crown prosecutors to protect Ontarians, limit victim losses and recover assets acquired through fraud. The SFO works in partnership with police services across Ontario and Canada, and supports prevention, education and victim services as part of its mandate.
Cases are referred to the SFO by law enforcement and prosecutorial partners when specialized expertise is needed to investigate and prosecute complex financial crimes.
