Lois Adeline Hackett (nee Slesser) of Kincardine died, Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, surrounded by family, at Huron Shores Hospice, Tiverton, in her 87th year.
Dearly loved and sadly missed by her daughter, Michele Pollock (Mike); grandchildren, Blair Pollock (Laura) and Lana Tanner (Brendan); and her precious great-granddaughters, Jessie Tanner and Nora Pollock.
Also survived by her sisters, Karen and Bill Fry, Ruth Slesser and Carole Ehrich; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her nephew, Kevin Fry; and her partner. Roy Elliott.
As an advocate for the Kincardine Hospital for more than 60 years, Lois would love for you to carry on her legacy by donating your time, or even the smallest gift. Most of all, she would want us all to lead our lives with positivity as she did.
In 2017, Lois received her 50-year service pin from the Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary. She served as president of the auxiliary three times, and was social convener numerous times. She was also honoured with an outstanding service pin. In 1988, she received her Kincardine life membership, and in 2001, she received her provincial life membership.

The family thanks the many doctors, nurses, ambulance attendants and staff at the Kincardine and Hanover hospitals and Huron Shores Hospice - facilities that Lois was very proud of. Also, thank you to the staff at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, for your support and guidance.
A private family interment was held at the Kincardine Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or Huron Shores Hospice would be appreciated. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
