The Huron-Bruce Kidney Walk on-line auction has raised $5,075, with the actual Kidney Walk set for Sunday, Sept. 13, at Station Beach, Kincardine, with registration at 9 a.m., and the five-kilometre walk beginning at 10 a.m.
Organizer Cathy Pennington of Kincardine was thrilled with the response to the annual auction.
"We are absolutely spoiled by the incredible support shown during our on-line auction," she said. "Every bid, every donation, every share, and every bit of encouragement helped make this possible. We truly couldn’t do it without this generous community.
"A very special thank you to everyone who donated such incredible prizes and to everyone who participated by bidding. Your generosity means more than you know and will make a real difference for the Kidney Foundation.
"Thank you for helping us make another auction such a huge success!"
Pennington also encourages everyone to join the annual Kidney Walk. Funds raised through this event help fuel real-time support, life-saving research and strong advocacy for everyone affected by kidney disease. The goal is a future where every person living with kidney disease can truly thrive.
Walk participants who raise $150 or more receive a commemorative T-shirt. If you raise $1,000 or more, you are a Kidney Walk Champion and receive an exclusive T-shirt; and if you raise $5,000 or more, you join the prestigious Kidney Walk Pinnacle Club.
