Local hospital foundations receive funds from Insurance Bureau of Canada

Friday, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson was at the Lucknow Sports Centre to present each of the eight hospital foundations in Huron-Bruce, with a donation of $5,000 from the Insurance Bureau of Canada, represented by Doug DeRabbie, director, government relations, Ontario.

"Huron-Bruce's hospital foundations are largely responsible for the fund-raising efforts that allow hospitals to do the work that ensures patients have access to the best possible care when in hospital," said Thompson. "I am pleased to see their good work recognized with these generous donations, and look forward to the benefits it will bring to our local communities."

She said the hospital foundations raise funds that make possible the purchasing of equipment, facility maintenance, and assistance to staff with training and development.

"The Insurance Bureau of Canada and its members have a long and proud history of working locally to make a difference," said DeRabbie. "We hope that these donations will help provide health care services to residents in Huron-Bruce."
