If you are coming to our Down East Lobster Feast this Saturday, Sept. 12 — which is officially sold out! — get ready for an incredible East Coast celebration. Doors open at 3 p.m., with The Celtic Hillbillies hitting the stage at 4 p.m., followed by our delicious lobster roll dinner from 5-7 p.m. Grab a Blueberry Screech Mojito at the bar, buy your tickets to win our "Lobster Dinner for Two" draw, and brace yourself for the classic "Come From Away" initiation ceremony (remember: fishes get kisses!). We are off to another great start for our September Kin Cares 50/50 draw, with the jackpot already climbing over $11,000! Our first Early Bird draw takes place tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 11, with a $500 prize up for grabs, followed by a second Early Bird draw next Thursday, Sept. 18, for $250. Be sure to purchase your tickets before the first draw if you can, so you will be automatically entered into both Early Bird draws, as well as the grand prize draw at the end of the month. Our August Kin Cares 50/50 winner, Jon Corbett, dropped by the branch to pick up his winnings.

At the Saturday Meat Draw, Cathy Alcombrack took home the $146 cash prize in the 50/50 draw. But wait, Cathy was also a double-dipper, winning two meat prizes. Come on, Gert, let some other people win! At least Dragon won a prize as well. Remember, we have a meat draw every Saturday afternoon in the club room. Also, if you are curious, we are planning the next Mega Meat Draw for Saturday, Dec. 5, so mark that date down, more details to follow.
As we approach Remembrance Day, and our annual Poppy Campaign, we will be looking for help stuffing poppies in envelopes. The plan is for volunteers to meet at the branch in the morning, Thursday, Oct. 15. We will have more details coming soon, but if you can help us out, please save that date.
Our Early Bird membership renewals are officially under way! You can now lock in your rate for 2027 at the discounted price of $55, saving $10 off the regular fee. Beyond securing your spot for the year ahead, early renewal automatically enters you into our exclusive monthly prize draws. Renew this month for a chance to win four tickets to our Duelling Pianos performance next month, or renew in October to be entered for two tickets to our New Year's Eve event. The $1,200 jackpot was a hit at the Thursday Night Bingo last week, so much so that Marty planned another one for tonight (Sept. 10), again as a special thank you to all of our regular Bingo players. Good luck to everyone!

Looking ahead, this coming Sunday, there is a Lighthouse Swing Band Dance from 2-5 p.m., and the theme is “Swingin’ Saddle Social”. We have our Family Dinner, and our September General Membership Meeting, Sunday, Sept. 20. Music Bingo is happening Friday, Sept. 25, with five new and fun playlists. The Branch Golf Tournament is a go for Sunday, Sept. 27. Finally, don’t forget that a new Men’s Shed group is launching at the branch, kicking things off with an introductory and promotional meeting in the hall, Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. If you're looking for a welcoming space to connect with other local guys, dive into hobbies, tackle projects, or just lend a hand, with no prior skills or experience required, then come check it out and see what it's all about.
