Two young ladies, Cassandra Bridge and Cheyenne Collins, are competing for junior ambassador at the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair which runs this weekend, Sept. 25-26.
CASSANDRA BRIDGE
Cassandra is a Grade 9 student at Ecole Kincardine District Senior School (KDSS) and lives just outside of Ripley with her parents, Courtney and Michael Bridge.
She is very active in her community, planting trees with the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN), helping with Bluewater-area agricultural sales, and is a Leader-in-Training with the Bluewater Outdoor Education Centre. She also volunteers at church dinners, 4-H fund-raisers, and community agricultural events.
Outside of volunteering, Cassandra works part-time at Sarah and Suds Laundry Service, babysits, and helps on her family's beef farm. She is also involved in Kincardine Minor Hockey. Looking toward the future, she is interested in pursuing a career in carpentry after high school.
Cassandra's dedication to agriculture and her community has already been recognized, as she received an agricultural award at her Grade 8 graduation. She is excited for the opportunity to participate in the Ripley Agricultural Society ambassador competition, meet new people, share her love of agriculture, and represent her community.

CHEYENNE COLLINS
Cheyenne is a Grade 9 student at KDSS and proud member of the Ripley community.
She has a strong connection to agriculture and enjoys helping out on the family farm. She volunteers at Angus Sale and other agriculture-related events, when needed. She has also gained experience through babysitting and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Outside of school and farm life, Cheyenne keeps busy with activities she loves, including competitive dance, 4-H, soccer, and youth group. She also enjoys summer camp, horseback riding, and being active in her community.
She hopes to attend university after high school, followed by law school, with the goal of pursuing a career in law. She is excited about the opportunity to participate in the Ripley Agricultural Society ambassador competition, meet new people, learn more about agriculture and her community, and represent Ripley with pride.

SENIOR AMBASSADOR JOSLYNN CURRAN
The new senior ambassador of the fair is Joslyn Curran, a Grade 12 student at KDSS, who lives on Concession 12 of Huron-Kinloss Township with her parents, Rhonda and Michael Curran.
She is an active and dedicated member of her school and community. She volunteers with the Ripley and District Horticultural Society's "For Our Youth" program, helps with Farrell’s Pumpkin Patch, supports activities at the Ripley school, and takes part in community garbage clean-ups. She enjoys giving her time to help make her community a better place.
Outside of volunteering and school, Joslynn works part-time at Fisherman’s Cove and also enjoys babysitting. She is currently taking on an additional leadership role at school by running for student council president, demonstrating her enthusiasm for getting involved and representing her fellow students.
After graduating high school, she plans to attend university and pursue a career in science. She is excited for the opportunity to participate in the Ripley Agricultural Society ambassador program, meet new people, learn from the experience, and represent her community.

The 163rd Ripley-Huron Fall Fair runs Friday, Sept. 25, from 5 p.m. to midnight; and Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to midnight. Admission is $10 per person/per day with children, aged five and under, admitted free.
The fair actually begins Thursday, Sept. 24, with a teen dance from 7-9 p.m.
Friday events include a robot demonstration by the Kinetic Knights Robotics Team, Stone Boat Pullers tractor pull, the frog-jumping contest at 7 p.m., the ambassador program at 7:30 p.m., and live music to "Weekend Never Ends," beginning at 9 p.m.
Saturday's highlights include the heavy games at 8 a.m., the Ripley 4-H Sheep Club achievement day, Ripley 4-H Beef Club achievement day and Light Horse show, all beginning at 9 a.m., Ripley 4-H Sheep Club invitational show at 1 p.m., and a poultry display at 10 a.m.
The Mammoth Parade begins at 11:30 a.m., and will run from the soccer fields, through downtown Ripley to the fairgrounds.
The afternoon features a car show, pipe bands, Reptilia Exhibit, dunk tank, axe-throwing, Snippity the Clown, pony rides and petting zoo, Lucas The Illusionist, a Worm Wrangler show, FMX shows, and much more.
The live music at night includes Bobby Scongack at 8 p.m, and Adam Cousins at 10 p.m.
Also at the fair, enjoy the midway, food trucks, the exhibit hall, laser combat, the Ripley Wolves puck and shoot station, Paw Patrol and Princess Peach mascots, and the list goes on. Check the poster below for details.
