PRWIN recognizes Ripley's "For Our Youth" club leader and junior leaders

Junior leaders with the Ripley and District Horticultural Society's "For Our Youth" club were in the spotlight as they received awards of merit from the Pine River Watershed Initiative Network (PRWIN), Friday night, at the Ripley-Huron Fall Fair.

Chairman David Grant said the junior leaders are a crucial component of the group. Many of them were members of the club for a few years and are familiar with both the routines and the other children, making them a natural fit for a leadership role.

Junior leaders help take attendance, assist with crafts and cooking projects, and come up with fun, active games to help the group get some exercise in the fresh air. The club is very grateful to these young people for their participation and willingness to mentor the younger members.

The following junior leaders received awards:

• Brynn Arnold

• Joslyn Curran

• Gemma McKay

• Victoria Lowry

• Chris Searson

Senior leader Rhonda Curran also received an award of merit.
