Leda White of Ripley dies at the age of 90

Leda Myrtle White of Ripley died Sept. 25, 2026, in her 91st year.

Born Aug. 25, 1936, in Allenford, she was the daughter of Oscar and Ethel (nee Roberts) White.

Survived by her two sons, Russell Nelson and Peter Nelson; her two daughters, Sherry Nelson and Cathy Nelson; five sisters and two brothers, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her children’s father, John Nelson; and her second husband, Nick Onchulenko.

She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and Rosewood RVilla family.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Lucknow Legion, Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, from 1-3 p.m.

A family celebration of life and ashes ceremony will be held next summer.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley; www.mackenzieandmccreath.com.
