The Kincardine Rotary Club is, once again, hosting its Sharecrows event in support of the Kincardine Food Bank and the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation.
In order to participate, you must register your Sharecrow by Oct. 15 at sharecrows.org/clubs/kincardine.
Then build your Sharecrow (scarecrow) and display it out in front of your property from Oct. 20-31, with a bin available to collect non-perishable items.
Everyone is invited to take a Sharecrow Tour after obtaining a map, available on the Rotary Club website or at select businesses in Kincardine, making food donations along the tour. Money raised from the sale of maps will go to the hospital foundation.
Once the event has ended, participants are asked to bring all collected food to the Anglican Church of the Messiah (location of the food bank), Nov. 1, from 1-3 p.m.
Join the fun and be a Hunger Hero!
Last year, with 41 Sharecrows located around the Town of Kincardine, the Rotary Club gathered more than 1,000 pounds (half a tonne) of food and hygiene products, and raised more than $1,000 toward its $5,000 donation to the hospital foundation.
