Walter (Wally) Donald Motz of Point Clark, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, at the age of 91.
After 69 years together, and less than two years apart, Wally is once again in the loving embrace of his dear wife, Elva, together with her for eternity.

Left behind to miss him immensely, are his daughters, Debbie Briggs (Chris) and Bonnie Dahm (Dan); his son-in-law, Fred Kreller; as well as his, brother Bob.
An integral figure of our family, Wally will be forever missed by his six grandchildren, Lisa Lowry (Brad), Melanie Zegers (Phillip), Tammy Kreller, Bobbi-Jo Adams (John), Brad Briggs (Amber), and Jimmy Shaw (Krystina); his 13 great-grandchildren, Vahnessa (Blake), Kristen, Zackary (Rae-Lynn), Kaitlyn, Cheyan, Olivia, Emily, Dylan, Hannah, Kendyl, Callie, Adele, and Charlee; and his four great-great-grandchildren, Ramsey, Hudson, Maverick, and Miles.
After years of missing them, Wally is together again with his daughter, Patricia Kreller; great-grandson, Nolan; parents, Michael and Helen Motz; brothers, Emil and Michael; and parents-in-law, John and Lorene Stellar.
And waiting patiently for dad to take their leashes on his first walk in Heaven, are his precious pups, Brutus, Buffy and Patches.
After more than 37 years with Uniroyal Goodrich, Wally retired to Point Clark in 1990. Retirement didn’t keep him settled for long, as less than a year later, his restless spirit led him to become a school bus driver for Ripley. He cherished those nine years with the local children and often said it was the best job he ever had!
Before and after retirement, many of Wally’s happiest memories were made outdoors, surrounded by his hunting buddies. He travelled throughout Canada in pursuit of moose, deer, bear, and caribou, with plenty of small game hunting along the way. His love of the outdoors and his commitment to conservation were an important part of who he was.
A Life Member of both the Bridgeport Rod and Gun Club and the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), Wally certainly left his mark. Serving as secretary-treasurer of OFAH Zone H for more than 26 years, as well as a member of the Big Game Committee, he was often referred to as “Mr. OFAH Zone H,” and was one of the key executive members in the zone.
He gave much of his time and energy to the organizations he cared deeply about. His dedication to the clubs was legendary, as were the friendships and memories he made along the way.
Wally’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful medical team at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, as well as to his family doctor, Dr. Thomson, and pharmacists Mike and Natalie McKechnie, who have made extra efforts to ensure his health and comfort over the years.
Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, from 12-1 p.m., at Cameron’s Funeral Home/Davey Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 1 pm, followed by a luncheon reception.
A private interment will take place at Pine River Cemetery in Point Clark, at a later date.
Special thank you to Wally’s service officiant, Emily Vandonk, for her life-long dedication to our family.
In keeping with Wally’s wishes and his life-long commitment to conservation, he hoped to help provide future generations with the same opportunities to enjoy the outdoors that meant so much to him throughout his life. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the OFAH Youth Education Fund in Peterborough would be warmly appreciated. Donations can be made on-line at www.cameronsofkincardine.com.
