Purple Grove news

Congratulations to Kathy and Allan Mackay and family on the 30th anniversary of the Ainsdale Golf Course.

Lisa and Bruce Watke of Carrick Township visited with Deanna and Morley Scott last week.

Maureen and Roy Collins were pleased to have their family home for Easter.

Janet and Wayne Rhody, Michelle and family, Marianne Rhody, Oliver and Skyler, and Gerald Rhody attended a Rhody Easter gathering at the home of Mandy and Don Zuk.

Visitors last week with Fran and Jim Farrell were Jamie Farrell, Scott Den Hann, and Simon and Jan Logtenberg, Saturday evening.

Thanks to the folks at Kinloss for a great supper on Sunday evening. It is always a good time of visiting while enjoying the meal. The drive home for some of us was no fun at all.  Hope all the workers made it home safely.

Happy Anniversary to Susan and Rick Ryman.

Sympathy is extended  to the families of Ron Crich, Larry Moulton, Betty Eskrick, Brian McBride and Don Craig.

Sorry to hear some of our folks are not feeling well. Get well soon!

The family of Largaret McInnes gathered to celebrate Easter. Nancy King and Annetta visited Largaret and Karen during the week.

We were pleased to hear about the contribution that James McEwan made to the Guelph Storm in the OHA. He received the MVP Award for 2015-2016, the Top Scorer award and the Fan Club Award. Wouldn’t his grandparents, Joyce and Jim McEwan, be so proud of him? His father, Ken, was raised just outside of Kinloss. James’ parents, Marion and Ken, live in Chatham. All the rest of the McEwan clan are pleased too.

The Purple Grove Card Party was held at Mary Anne Kukoly’s home Friday evening, and a good time was had by all.

RVilla is  hosting a Daffodil Tea, April 13, in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. Community members are most welcome to enjoy an afternoon of visiting.

Ladies, hope you are all able to attend the Women's Institute meeting Wednesday evening, April 6, at Wilma’s home. We do hate to say :weather permitting!"
