Ripley Wolves induct three volunteers into Wall of Fame
The Ripley Wolves were shut out by Durham, but doubled Shallow Lake, in Senior "A" hockey action on the weekend.

After suffering an 8-0 loss Friday night in Durham, the Wolves crushed the Crushers, 6-3, on home ice Saturday night.
Just before the game, the Wolves inducted three wonderful volunteers, Pat Chatham, Marina Cameron and Jane VanSickle, into the Wall of Fame, with hockey club president Kevin Taylor making the presentation.

On the ice, Ripley opened the scoring on a an unassisted effort by Brett Catto, midway through the first period.
Late in the first, Nick Locking made it 2-0 for the Wolves, assisted by Jordan Turcotte,

Travis VanGaver put the Wolves ahead 3-0 on a short-handed, unassisted goal, partway through the second, before Shallow Lake finally lit up the scoreboard.
The teams traded goals through the second, with Locking scoring from Corey McCrae, and in the dying minutes of the period, Cody Britton scoring from Locking and Tyler McCarthy, to take a 5-2 lead into the third.
Jeremy McQuillin worked the powerplay early in the final frame, and scored from VanGaver and Brian Stanley to make it a 6-2 game.
Shallow Lake tried to make a comeback with another goal in the third, but time ran out and Ripley took the 6-3 win.

The Wolves will play two make-up games this weekend in an effort to finish first in the North’s "A" Division (fifth overall).

They travel to Elora for an 8:30 p.m. game Friday, and host Saugeen Shores, Sunday, Feb. 1, at 1:30 p.m.

The Wolves are tied with the Shallow Lake Crushers for the top spot in the bottom half of the North, with a game in hand.
If they finish ahead of the Crushers after this weekend’s games – Shallow Lake faces Lucknow in its only game – the Wolves will have home-ice advantage through the "A" playoffs, should they finish in the Top 4 of the six-team round-robin (the South Division will send Seaforth and Milverton to join Ripley, Shallow Lake, Shelburne and Lucknow).

The Top 4 of the round-robin will then move onto the "A" semi-finals.
