POLICE LOOKING FOR PELLET GUN SHOOTER
(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County OPP officers have been busy investigating a rash of mischief incidents that have occurred in the Town of Goderich over the past couple weeks. A half- dozen cases of windows and vehicles being shot and damaged by pellet and BB gun ammunition have been reported to the Huron OPP since Jan. 15.
Jan. 15, a Blake Street East resident reported she found both of her vehicles in her laneway damaged. The rear tail-lights had been shot and damaged by a pellet gun.
Jan. 19, a St. Vincent Street resident reported his Subaru Imprezza was parked in his driveway when it had the rear window shot at and damaged by a pellet gun.
Jan. 19, at 10:05 p.m., a First Student school bus was travelling westbound on Huron Road close to the intersection of Britannia Road East when the school bus was shot at with a pellet gun. One of the double-paned windows on the driver’s side was shattered. The driver and one adult passenger on board were uninjured.
Jan. 20, at approximately 4:40 p.m., the owner of a Chevrolet Impala parked his vehicle at the end of Cove Road and went for a walk. When he returned a half hour later, he discovered his driver’s side window had been smashed out by the shot of a pellet gun.
Jan. 21, a West Street resident reported a window at his house was shot at and damaged by a BB gun. Police believe the window was shot at from a motor vehicle that passed by on Wellington Street.
Jan. 24, a Britannia Road West resident reported to police someone shot a pellet through her front porch window causing about $150 in damage.
Huron OPP officers, including members of the Huron OPP Property Crimes Unit, continue to investigate these incidents. These may seem like pranks to some, but they are crimes that carry significant penalties including fines and imprisonment upon conviction. Fortunately, nobody has been injured in any of the reported incidents.

AGGRESSIVE DRIVER FACING SEVERAL CHARGES
(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - A 30-year-old female driver of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is facing three traffic-related charges after she was observed driving aggressively Tuesday evening, Jan. 27.
At around 8:23 p.m., as officers were investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision on Bluewater Veterans Highway at Saltford Road, one of the officers observed a Mazda MX6 sedan accelerating northbound toward the collision scene at a high rate of speed.
The officer watched as the Mazda aggressively passed two vehicles on the bridge and continued northbound toward the collision scene. The driver then braked heavily, turned off and headed east on Saltford Road. The vehicle continued through the detour zone and returned back to Bluewater Veterans Highway.
At that point, an officer stationed at the north end of the collision scene observed the Mazda enter back onto Bluewater Veterans Highway. The officer immediately followed the northbound Mazda. A speed measurement of the Mazda was taken, which was in excess of 50 km/h over the 80 km/h zone. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers also noted the validation sticker on the licence plate was expired.
As a result, Sabrina LE COUFFE, 30, of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Validation on Plate and Drive Left of Centre within 30 m of a Bridge – No Clear View. She has a court date scheduled for Provincial Offences Court – Goderich, March 31. Her licence has been suspended for seven days and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
