POLICE INVESTIGATING EARLY MORNING BREAK-IN
(CHESLEY, ON) – May 11, at 2:43 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of an alarm at the Chesley Arena located along 4th Avenue Southeast in Chesley.
Officers arrived to find that the arena had been forcibly entered through a back door. The list of stolen items is not available at this time.
IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
(SAUGEEN TOWNSHIP, ON) – May 9, at 9:48 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Highway 21 in Saugeen Township, stopped a white Chevrolet van.
The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Forty-year-old Hugh DEVENNEY of Kitchener has been charged with operate over-80 milligrams. He is scheduled to appear in court May 18, to answer to the charge.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN ATV
(CARRICK TWP, ON) – May 9, at 1:18 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report that an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) had just been taken from a residence in the 500 block of Bruce County Road 3 in Carrick Township.
The stolen ATV is described as a blue 2006 Polaris A06 with Licence No. 65LN8. There is no estimated value available at this time.
IMPAIRED DRIVER LEAVES SCENE OF CRASH
(WALKERTON, ON) – May 8, at 9:06 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle collision on Yonge Street South in Walkerton.
Officers located one of the involved vehicles, a green GMC van, on Bruce County Road 4 in Brant Township. Once the van was stopped, officers determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Thirty-nine-year-old Jordan BARTOSEK of Morris-Turnberry Township was charged with impaired driving, operate over-80 milligrams, fail to stop at scene, careless driving, drive with no insurance and drive while suspended. He is scheduled to appear in court June 8, to answer to the charges.
DRIVERS INJURED IN TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
(KINCARDINE, ON) – May 5, at 3:10 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 21 and Kincardine Avenue in the Municipality of Kincardine.
Officers arrived with Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce Paramedic Services to find that a red Chevrolet Venture was eastbound when it struck a black Lexus RX5 that was southbound on Highway 21. The driver of the Venture, a 79-year-old Kincardine woman, was charged with fail to yield to traffic on through highway. Both drivers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
