The Tiverton Baptist Church is celebrating 161 years in the village June 5. Everyone is welcome to dinner at 5 p.m., followed by a hymn sing at 6:30 p.m. and the celebration at 7 p.m. Joining the congregation to celebrate, are speaker Matt Naismith of Church of the City in Guelph, and local soloist Erin Milley-Patey. If you are attending the dinner, please RSVP via Facebook or by calling 519-368-5206.
Tiverton Blooms
Tiverton Blooms will again be looking for volunteers to help plant flowers in the village the first weekend in June (tentatively). Bring your friends and come out to join the fun and get a little sun. Remember we will be having the “Tiverton Blooms Gardens of Distinction” awards again this year so start planning now. Also, garden-related, “Through the Garden Gate” will be July 10 and you can always get great ideas for your garden.
Tiverton Library Branch news
This week, the library delivered a new selection of titles to the Tiverton Park Manor. A variety of genres was included so that there is something for everyone. Residents should feel free to come check them out – no card necessary!
Tiverton Fall Fair
Save the date – 155th Tiverton Fall fair Sept. 30, Oct. 1-2. The Tiverton Agricultural Society is in preparation for the exciting annual fair in just FOUR months' time! There are new items planned for 2016 to celebrate. The new fair books are out so watch for them. Stay tuned for more details.
Manor Musings
The residents of Tiverton Park Manor travelled to the Farrell farm, Friday afternoon, to observe the new automated milking system. What a treat to see the advancement in milk farming technology. The Farrells welcomed everyone and explained the whole process. If you haven’t seen it yet you should definitely check it out. Thank you to the Farrells. The group also celebrated the birthday of Sheila Knapp.
