A Valentine's Day Tea will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at the Tiverton Knox Presbyterian Church, hosted by the Knox Youth Group. Cost is by donation.
Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5-6:30 p.m., at the Tiverton Knox Presbyterian Church. Come out and enjoy some homemade pancakes and sausage with real maple syrup. Hosted by the Knox Youth group; donations at the door.
A group of Tiverton and Inverhuron residents attended the Kincardine council meeting Wednesday, Jan. 28, to present pros and cons to opening the gate on Victoria Street, Inverhuron, when Highway 21 and the B-line are closed. Tiverton Park Manor gave a presentation on the necessity of having the road available for emergencies such as ambulances, medication delivery and heating fuel. Last winter, the Manor had to reduce the heat while waiting for the roads to open to deliver fuel. Another resident was opposed to opening the gate, citing the fact that if the road were open there would only be more vehicles stranded along the road. The debate continues. Stay tuned folks.
The Tiverton Agricultural Society will be taking part in the Winterfest weekend coming up, Feb. 7-8. On the 7th, at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, come out and participate in the Euchre Party from 1-4 pm. Admission is $4, good cash prizes. Lunch to follow. For further information, call Audel at 519-368-7325. Sunday, the 8th, from 2-5 p.m., there will be “Local Entertainment” at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre followed by a hot meal of ham and scalloped potatoes and homemade pies. Come out and enjoy the music, listen or get up and dance to our local entertainers. Everyone is welcome.
