(GODERICH, ON) – The Huron County OPP has charged a 53-year-old male driver of North Huron, following a traffic stop Jan. 13.
At approximately 11:45 p.m., a Huron OPP officer spotted a Pontiac Sunfire turn off of Courthouse Square onto Kingston Street. The officer stopped the driver to inform him the trunk of his vehicle was insecure.
When the driver exited his vehicle to secure his trunk, the officer noticed the man had a piece of drug paraphernalia sticking out of his pants pocket. When the officer questioned the driver about the item, he immediately tossed it into a nearby snowbank. The driver was placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest revealed he was in possession of illegal drugs.
As a result, Murray HICKEY, 53, of North Huron has been charged with two counts of: Possession of a Schedule I Substance. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 2, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
