Sizzling summer heat greets Ainsdale ladies; perfect weather for senior men's league

The sizzling summer heat, Tuesday, was somewhat tempered by the breeze, but the Ainsdale Golf Course ladies found it was great for scoring!
 

Deb Quinn and Edie Fotheringham each recorded a season-best 38 Stableford points to win their flights.

 

The flight winners for Stableford points were:
 

  • A  Antoinetta MacDonald 33
  • B  Anne Burton 32
  • C  Deb Quinn 38
  • D  Robin Ballantyne 34
  • E  Edie Fotheringham 38

 

The low putters by flight were; 
 

  • A  Barb Grubb 16
  • B  Wendy Gardner 14
  • C  Jeanette Barnes 17
  • D  Barb McBride 16
  • E  Edie Fotheringham 20

 

The sponsored-hole winners for closest-to-the-line, were  Barb Grubb,  Kim Catto,  Barb Lansink,  Marg Firth and Muriel Cochrane.
 

The long drives were boomed out by Antoinetta MacDonald,  Laura Haight,  Una MacDonald and Gail MacIntosh.
 

The longest putt was recorded by Muriel Cochrane, while the closest-to-the-sprinkler-head was awarded to Janice Matchett.

 

There were 14 ladies who will enjoy a free Dairy Queen Blizzard for their efforts on No. 12.

 

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE

 

A perfect summer day for the Senior Men's scramble at Ainsdale, Wednesday.

After three teams tied at minus-two on the back nine, a putt-off was needed to decide the winner, with the group of John Gauch, Dave Grant, Hugh Jones and Les Jolley coming out on top. 

Closest-to-the-pin winners were John McLeod on No. 12 and Gary Firth on No. 17.
