The 8th annual Marketplace Cup was held Thursday, Sept. 1, at Ainsdale Golf Course, with Captain Al Mackay and Team White remaining victorious for the eighth consecutive year - 6.5 matches to 4.5 matches - over Captain Jim Pannell and Team Blue.
Joining Mackay on Team White were: Travis McLaughlin, Mike Meraw, Don Turcotte, Rick Kinjerski, Jay Nowakowski, Matt Ropp, Todd Thompson, Bob Black, Jarret Johns and Darcy Scott, while Team Blue included: Brian MacDonald, Ross Stewart, Ken Bresee, David Blenkinsop, Richard Ford, J.D. Colling, Jim Martin, Dave Robinson, Lynn Finlayson, Mike McKenzie and Jim MacPherson.

LADIES' LEAGUE
The Ainsdale ladies enjoyed a hot sunny afternoon, Tuesday, with only four drops of rain. The occasion was the annual Matchett Financial Services-sponsored meal night, starting with a nine-hole, four-person, drop-off scramble, followed by a sumptuous ribs and chicken buffet dinner with all the trimmings and topped off with a heaped-up serving of good fellowship.
The prizes, provided by Matchett Financial Services, were awarded to five teams consisting of:
Winners of a sleeve of golf balls for closest to the pin on No. 8 went to the team of Christine MacDonald, Barb Grubb, Muriel Cochrane and Wendy Houghton.
Winners of the 50/50 Junior Draws for August were Norma Jean Rhody, Kim Williams, Deb Quinn and Karen Neilipovitz.
SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
Another wonderful golf day for the Senior Men's scramble at Ainsdale, Wednesday, with a putt-off needed to decide the winners, after two groups tied at minus-three on the front nine.
The team of Bob Black, Peter Morris, John Bond and Richard Emmerton took top honors.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Ken Bresee on No. 3 and Wayne Morrow on 8.
