Scorching scoring for ladies at Ainsdale; senior men moved to Somerhill

Wow, Tuesday, Sept. 6, seemed to be the hottest day of the season and the Ainsdale ladies kept pace with some scorching scoring.
 

Marg Firth carded a season-best 48 strokes, with 16 putts on the front nine, for a resounding 55 Stableford point total.

 

The flight winners for Stableford points were:

  • B  Debbie Catto  35
  • C  Marlene Morrow  32
  • D  Ethel McDonald  36
  • E  Marg Firth  55

 

The low-putters by flight were:
 

  • A  Barb Grubb  14
  • B  Debbie Catto  15
  • C  Una Macdonald  17
  • D  Norma Jean Rhody  14
  • E  Marg Firth  16

 

The sponsored-hole winners for closest to the line, were  Barb Grubb,  Wendy Gardner,  Anne rock,  Gail MacIntosh and  Jan Kelly, 

The long drivers this week, were  Laura Haight,  Christine MacDonald,  Wendy Houghton,  Jackie Mitchell and  Marg Firth.
 

The longest putt was recorded by Beth Mimnagh, while the closest-to-the-sprinkler-head, was Karen Neilipovitz.

There were 19 ladies who will enjoy a Dairy Queen Blizzard for their efforts on No. 3.
 

SENIOR MEN'S LEAGUE
 

The weekly Ainsdale Senior Men's scramble was moved to Somerhill, Wednesday, Sept. 7, with another great day had by all. 

Three teams tied at minus-three, but after a putt-off, the foursome of Ron McDonald, Ken Bresee, Bob Bull and Dave Dunn, came out on top. 

Closest-to-the-pin winners, were John Downs on No. 2, Dave Hannay on No. 5 and Roy Douglas on No. 9.
