Stormy winter weather continues to cause problems for motorists in the Kincardine area, as severe cold temperatures, high wind and heavy snow descended Friday night, and stuck around through Saturday. The storm is expected to ease off by Sunday afternoon.
Saturday morning, area residents woke up to blowing and drifting snow, and Highway 21 closed from Kincardine to Port Elgin.
The weather worsened with strong winds causing white-out conditions, resulting in numerous cancellations, and several motor vehicle accidents.

By 2 p.m., the OPP had closed Highway 21 from Amberley to Port Elgin, Highway 9 from Kincardine to Walkerton, and the B-line (Bruce County Road 23) from Lorne Beach to Bruce County 15.
A few hours later, Highway 21 was closed from Bayfield to Southampton due to blowing and drifting snow and zero visibility.
Police advise that the wind will pick up overnight, and urge people to stay at home and off the roads.
