Renovations under way at Kincardine hospital
Renovations at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital site are under way, and expected to be completed by the end of April.
Flooring in the main corridors, where there is carpet and chipped tile, will be replaced, and a number of doors will be upgraded to comply with fire code requirements and improve functionality, states a press release from the health centre board.
“These updates will go a long way in improving the patient experience; however, there will be disruptions to patient flow as work is under way,” says Chris Cartwright, vice-president of finance and corporate services. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to providing a refreshed environment for our Kincardine site patients and staff.”
Last month, Paul Rosebush, health centre president and chief executive officer, unveiled to Kincardine council a proposal to update and redevelop the Kincardine hospital which could cost up to $35-million, with Kincardine on the hook for about $14-million of that cost.
