Devoted cancer driver co-ordinator Ellen McFadyen dies at the age of 80

Barbara "Ellen" McFadyen (née Edmiston) of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital, Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, in her 81st year.

Beloved wife of Duncan, and mother of Scott (Nancy) McFadyen of Smiths Falls, Sue (Brian) Samson of Hamilton, Eric (Julie) McFadyen of Kincardine, and Kate (Dave) Wright of Hanmer.

Dear grandmother of Erica, Rob, Ally, Jeffrey, Andrew and Tegan.

Survived by her sister, Jane Guest of Kincardine. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Predeceased by her brother-in-law, Jack Guest; and sister-in-law, Florence (Hugh) Fitzsimmons.

Ellen was a retired nurse who volunteered for many years with the VON and the Cancer Society. She was a long-time member of the Kincardine Theatre Guild and an avid bridge player, and enjoyed Tai Chi.
