Ripley-Huron Community School students enjoy annual Christmas dinner

About 300 students and staff from Ripley-Huron Community School enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner, with roast turkey and all the trimmings, at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre, Monday afternoon.

Postponed from Thursday, the event has been a tradition since Grade 8 teacher Barb Grubb started it in 1990.

This year's organizer, Julie Twolan, her volunteers, and the Grade 8 parents and students served the food, with all proceeds going toward the Grade 8 graduation trip to Toronto in the spring. Thanks to the generosity of the community, most of the food was donated.

Besides the 300 meals served at the dinner, there were 115 take-out dinners sold as well.
