South Bruce OPP report drugs, stolen property seized; open liquor charges; and driver charged at crash

OPP SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED IN KINCARDINE

(KINCARDINE, ON) – Dec. 13, the South Bruce OPP and the South Bruce OPP Property Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a property on South Street, in Kincardine.
 
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized numerous items of stolen property, methamphetamine, and cannabis marijuana. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances was $190.

Twenty-two-year-old James MERRITT of Kincardine was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, break and enter, and careless storage of a weapon. He was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing Dec. 14.

Twenty-one-year-old Dawn DANFORD of Kincardine was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and careless storage of a weapon. She was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing Dec. 14.

A 17-year-old youth was charged with two counts of possessing a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and careless storage of a weapon. The youth will be appearing in court as required to answer to the charges. The individual can’t be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

OPEN LIQUOR FOUND AT RIDE

(TEESWATER, ON) – Dec. 17, at 3:10 a.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check on Clinton Street South in Teeswater, when a red Chevrolet Cobalt was stopped. 

Officers found open alcohol in the vehicle. Two passengers, both residents of Teeswater, were charged with having open liquor.  

DRIVER CHARGED AT TWO-VEHICLE CRASH

(GREENOCK TWP, ON) – Dec. 17, at 7:57 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 9 and Bruce County Road 20 in Greenock Township. 

Officers attended with Bruce County Paramedics, to find that a black Honda Civic and a white Ford F-150 were involved. The driver of the Civic, 35-year-old Melissa YOUNGE of North Perth, was charged with fail to yield. There were no injuries reported at the scene.
