Rae Johnson of Ripley dies at the age of 79

Rae Evans Johnson of Ripley died Dec. 22, 2016, at the Kincardine hospital, at the age of 79.

He was the beloved husband of Betty (Noble) for 53 years. Rae was born in Uxbridge, Ontario, May 17, 1937, the son of Sadie (Evans) and Jack Johnson.

Dear dad of Lisa (Andrew) Gardiner of Cobourg, and Bill (Martina Aisenpreis) of Point Clark. Cherished Poppa of Madelene, Rebecca, and Jackson.

Survived by his sister, Donna Barkey; and sister-in-law, Carol Johnson. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his brother, Lloyd; and his brother-in-law, Frank Barkey.

Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, from 6-9 p.m.

The funeral will be conducted at Knox Presbyterian Church, Ripley, Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Ruth McLean officiating, with Karen Martyn as organist.
