Canada Summer Jobs 2017 application period extended

To get a greater number of Canadian youth working this summer, the deadline for the Canada Summer Jobs employer application period, has been extended.

All not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses with up to 50 employees, will have another two weeks to apply for funding from the Government of Canada. The program creates summer job opportunities and valuable work experience for full-time students, ages 15 to 30.

“I encourage these organizations, employers and small businesses in Huron-Bruce, to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program," said Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb. "That way, we can help our students gain the skills and experience they need to be successful, while earning money for the upcoming school year.”

The application period has been extended to Feb. 3. Applicants approved for funding, will be able to hire students as early as April, 2017.

Canada Summer Jobs is part of the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy, which is its commitment to help young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment, get the information and gain the skills, work experience and abilities they need to make a successful transition to the labour market.
