Kincardine Peewee, Midget girls bring home Silver Stick banners

This past weekend, the Kincardine Midget Girls "B" hockey team and Peewee Girls "B" hockey team competed in the Women's International Silver Stick Tournament in Sarnia.

The Peewee girls battled through three periods of regulation time, one overtime period of four-on-four play before eventually succumbing to Sarnia in the third overtime period of three-on-three in the championship game, bringing home the finalist banner.

The Midget girls went undefeated in the tournament with one tie and two wins in round-robin play. After falling behind, 1-0, in the semi-finals the Kinucks were able to grind out a 4-2 win. 

In their final game, the girls led from the start and came away with a 4-1 victory and championship medals.

As luck would have it, both teams played their championship games in the same building and at the same time, which had several parents keeping an eye on both games.

Congratulations to both teams on a fabulous weekend of Kincardine-style hockey!
