More than 100 turn out for first Community Living Valentine's Gala
Despite the stormy winter weather on Valentine's Day, more than 100 people attended the first annual charity Valentine's Gala in support of Community Living of Kincardine and District, Saturday night in the Kincardine Hall at the Davidson Centre.

The hall was beautifully decorated and a delicious meal was served by Everywhere Catering of Kincardine.

The rest of the evening was spent dancing to the music of MC Travis Crawford of Kincardine who not only filled in as DJ because the band couldn't make it, but also conducted the live auction in the absence of Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker who also could not attend because of the weather. In addition, there were three tables of silent auction items on which to bid throughout the night.

Eight wonderful items were up for bid during the live auction, and all fetched good amounts.
  • Original painting, created and donated by Adam Dunlop, $180
  • Johnny Bower jersey, donated by Bruce Power, $800
  • Original painting, created and donated by Amy Boudrais, $100
  • A Week at the Top of the Bruce, donated by Ron and Jennifer Coristine, $800
  • "Two Dancers," created and donated by Katie Moelker, $100
  • Four Weekend Passes to Lucknow's Music in the Fields, donated by the Lucknow Kinsmen Club, $300
  • Original photography, taken and donated by Jeffery Vande Klippe, $90
  • Myrtle Beach Vacation, donated by the Farrow Group, $1,000

The Gala also featured a Hollywood-style photo booth where people could have their photos taken amid a myriad of props.

All proceeds from the event go toward the ongoing work of Community Living of Kincardine and District.
