Great to see old photos of train stuck in the snow, say readers
To the Editor:
RE: "A snowstorm in 1947 stopped the train in Huron Township - the good old days"
Thank you, Ken, for digging out those pictures.
We were just talking about that over coffee a few days ago.
I’m still trying to remember where the train was stuck. Being seven years old at the time, that fact eludes me.
Thanks again,

Hi Liz:
I enjoyed reading the article and looking at Ken Bridge's pictures of the storm of 1947.
It reminded me of a story my mother told me.
I was born Feb. 1, 1947. My dad had taken my mother to the Kincardine hospital and returned home. The storm struck while I was in the hospital and I was almost two weeks old before my mother was able to come home with me!
My sister told me that she could walk on the banks of Highway 21 and touch the telephone wires!
Thought you might enjoy this story.
Keep smiling, Liz!
