Kincardine District Secondary School has organized a Clothing Drive for KDSS and surrounding schools within the Bluewater District School Board.
The campaign began in response to the extreme cold weather warnings in the area this winter, says Eliza Bumba, one of the organizers.
"We are hoping to provide those in need with warm clothing," she says. "We are interested in collecting jackets, boots, hats, mittens, scarves, and all other regular clothing items, such as jeans, sweatshirts, leggings, hoodies, skirts, etc. We will gladly accept adult's and children's clothing.
"We will be giving individuals in need within our school an opportunity take what they require and then all other items will be distributed within our school board."
The public can drop off donations of new or gently-used clothing, in a box in the KDSS guidance office. The campaign continues through to Friday, March 27.
