Wolves seek to finish off series against Milverton Saturday night

The Ripley Wolves are within one game of clinching their first-round series against the Milverton Four Wheel Drives, in Senior A hockey action.

Ripley went into this past weekend up two games, but lost Friday night on home ice, and then won the game in Milverton Saturday night to lead the series, 3-1.

Friday night at the Ripley Arena, a late tying goal set up Milverton for a Game 3 win, 6-5.

It was another fast-paced game, with a combined 73 shots on net (40-33 in favour of the visitors).

Wolves goals were scored by Cody Britton, Gerrit Satosek (2), Nick Seiler and Ben Scheel. Assists went to Brett Catto (2), Brent Walton, Tyler Soehner, Patrick Weijak, Seiler, Alex MacLeod, Paul Stewart, Tyson Soers and Mike Osadca.
Jason Hamilton was in net, facing 40 shots in the loss.

Saturday night in Milverton, the Wolves snagged a 6-4 win.

Goals were scored by Tyson Soers, Jarred Colling, Alex MacLeod, Cody Britton, Brett Catto and Patrick Looby. Assists went to Tyler Soehner, Patrick Weijak, Andrew Walsh, Brian Stanley, Britton and Soers.

Kurt Edwards was solid in the Wolves net for his third win of the series.

The Wolves can advance to the second round with a win at home Saturday night, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. If necessary, Games 6 runs Sunday in Milverton, and Game 7 is Monday in Ripley.
