KDSS hosts CWOSSA hockey; girls make it to semi-finals
Kincardine District Secondary School welcomed eight girls and eight boys hockey teams to the area, Monday and Tuesday (March 5-6), for the Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (CWOSSA) championships.
Teams competed in two pools of hockey, playing at arenas in Kincardine, Tiverton, Ripley and Lucknow, with the semi-finals and finals set for Tuesday at the Davidson Centre.
The KDSS girls went undefeated, downing Lourdes of Guelph, 2-0; Galt, 6-0; and St. David's of Kitchener, 3-1. They advance to the semi-finals and hope to defend their CWOSSA title.
Meanwhile, the KDSS boys had one win and two losses, defeating Galt, 5-1; and losing to St. David's, 5-0; and Erin, 4-1.
They did not advance to the semi-finals.
The gold-medal game for the girls begins at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, with the boys gold-medal game starting at 2 p.m.
