Use crosswalks for your safety in downtown Kincardine, says reader

Police investigating after pedestrian hit by vehicle in downtown Kincardine”
If people would stop crossing the busy street from in between parked cars, this would not happen.
There are lights at every corner (Broadway, Durham and Lambton Streets), as well as a crosswalk at Harbour Street. Use the designated crosswalks which are there for safety reasons.
Walking an extra half-block isn’t that difficult. This is a small town and the blocks are not as big as the cities.
While I was on my way to work tonight (Thursday), I witnessed three people cross Queen Street from between parked cars and all were approximately 50 feet from a street corner with lights.
One lady had her infant son on her hip and one guy even rode his bike on the sidewalk and crossed Durham on a red light. Riding bikes on sidewalks is another issue.
There have been two pedestrians hit in the past two weeks in downtown Kincardine, and it is not even as busy as it is going to get next weekend.
