Local company donates more than 550 items to Kincardine Food Bank

AMEC-Black and McDonald, located in Underwood, launched a program Dec. 4, challenging its staff of about 70 people to bring in donations for the Kincardine Food Bank and place them under the “Spirit of Giving Tree.”
The challenge was to fill the Ford Escape of Michelle Lamont, Armow landowner liaison and community relations.
Thursday morning, the vehicle filled up quickly as Lamont and her helpers loaded everything and presented it to food bank co-ordinator Nancy Dawson.
"I made up a list of items that Nancy (Dawson) suggested, and I provided the list to our staff," said Lamont. "Everyone was very enthusiastic about participating, and I watched the bounty grow daily!"
The employees contributed more than 550 items to the food bank:

  • Kraft Dinner – 68 pkgs
  • Canned Fruit – 37 cans
  • Canned Meat/Fish – 21 cans
  • Sauces, Jams, Gravies – 17 pkgs/cans
  • Desserts, Cookies, Crackers – 63 boxes
  • Potato, Pasta & Stuffing Mixes – 22 pkgs
  • Rice – 10 lbs
  • Pasta – 41 pkgs
  • Pasta Sauce – 41 cans
  • Canned Pasta in sauce – 8 cans
  • Soup – 78 cans
  • Baked Beans – 4 cans
  • Canned Veggies – 41 cans
  • Baby Food – 18 jars
  • Breakfast Cereal – 31 boxes/bags
  • Pancake mixes – 2
  • Nutella – 2 jars
  • Juice - 2
  • Coffee – 1lb
  • Tea – 1 pkg
  • Chocolate Mix – 1 pkg
  • Diapers – 1 Lg box (276)
  • Colouring Books, Books, Crafts – 9
  • Toilet Paper – 12 rolls
  • Toothbrushes – 8
  • Disposable Razors – 2 pkgs
  • Shampoo – 2 bottles
  • Toothpaste – 6 tubes
