Congratulations to Gabrielle and Greg Smith on the birth of their son, Benjamin Peter -a first grandson for Heather and Sam Finnie and first great-grandchild for Irene Boyle of Walkerton. The Smith family visited this weekend with Heather and Sam - Benjamin's first big trip. Joseph Finnie was home from Guelph for the weekend too.

The John Farrell family gathered for a surprise birthday party for Tania Lise recently. A good time was had by all. Sunday,  Jacob Droppert and Eva Nahwegahbow celebrated their birthdays together with family at the home of Tobi and Dave Droppert.

Sincere sympathy is sent to all the McEwan family on the death of Joyce (Arnold) McEwan. Her funeral was held at the United Church in Kincardine on Saturday. An interesting note - three folks who had their roots on the Boundary passed away recently - Joyce, Merle (Dore) Rhody, and Ron Harkness. Their families are in our thoughts and prayers.

The Tommy Cooper Award night was held in Elmwood on Friday evening. Congratulations to John Gillespie who received this award. An Award of Merit went to Neal Mark of Bruce Peninsula.

Kathy and Bruce Aitken of Bracebridge visited with friends and family on the weekend.

The family of Fran and Jim Farrell gathered at the home of Crystal and Jamie Farrell of Holstein for Sunday lunch. Chris and Monty Van De Sype of Manitoba were able to enjoy a visit with their two nieces.

Fran Farrell visited with her dad, Dirk Logtenberg of Goderich.

Cheryl Bridge, Kyle and Holly enjoyed the birthday celebration for one-year-old Everett, son of Becca and Thomas Farrell, on Saturday. Cheryl and Carman visited recently with Ron and Diane Ellis of Auburn, and Cheryl enjoyed a visit with Viola Bridge on Friday.

The folks from the area who were able to attend the Right to Life banquet in Underwood, April 16, appreciated the guest speaker, Alex Schadenberg, executive director of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition. He presented some startling facts on the abuses that are happening in the world. We need to become more aware of what is happening with that debate.

Thanks to all the folks who were able to help out at the Spring Cleaning Bee at the Community Centre. It looks much better now.

Well, folks, if you enjoy eating leeks, the bush is full of them this week. Go out and enjoy a spring treat!
