Kincardine hospital auxiliary Art Easel program raises almost $9,000

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital auxiliary members are excited to report that the Art Easel project has been a great success once again this past year, raising a total of $8,973.80.

The auxiliary has partnered with the Funding Innovation Program for two-and-a-half years and this has proven to be a wonderful fund-raiser for the auxiliary.

The beautifully-framed prints are changed every three weeks and they vary from the Group of Seven to sports to musical to the whimsical. Currently, the prints are displayed at the Kincardine hospital, the Hawthorne Community Clinic, Sobeys, and Boston Pizza. The auxiliary appreciates their support as well as the media which so willingly posts the pictures.

Many thanks to the community for generously supporting this program. The money raised will go toward the purchase of up-to-date equipment for the Kincardine hospital.

They are standing with the next print at the Kincardine hospital entitled, “Circle of Life” by Norval Morrisseau who was was considered the “Picasso of the North.” He reveals something of the soul of humanity through colour. The "Circle of Life" print (right) is also on display at Sobeys.

The print at the Hawthorne Community Clinic is entitled, “Harley Davidson 1st Model (below)” This print is also at Boston Pizza.

The starting bid for each print is $200, and they are on display until Monday, March 18.
