Kincardine Community Concert Band, school choirs perform Christmas concert
The Kincardine Community Concert Band was joined by choirs from Ecole Elgin Market Public School and Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School in the presentation of a Christmas concert at Kincardine United Church, Dec. 7.
Besides some magnificent Christmas music by the entire band, and several ensembles, the band performed a tribute to founder, trumpeter and friend, Ron Neyvatte, who died this year. The piece, "A Saint-sational Trio," featured trumpeters Deanna Mele, Ray Kester and Larry Bird.
The enthusiastic crowd enjoyed the entire concert, especially the Elgin Market choir under the direction of Christine Cooper, and the KTTPS primary choir under the direction of Jo-Ann Scott and accompanied by Brenda Colquhoun.
The day before, Dec. 6, members of the band held Flash Mobs at Sobeys, Home Hardware and Canadian Tire in Kincardine, performing "Let it Snow," much to the delight of the customers and shoppers.
